PRESIDENT, ARCHITECT
RHET FISKNESS, AIA, NCARB

Since founding RHET Architecture in 2012, my journey has grown far beyond the drawing board. I’ve served as an AIA Delegate to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., led FM Architects as President for four years, and represented the North Central States as Regional Director for the Young Architects Forum. I’ve also spent eight years teaching as an adjunct professor at North Dakota State University, and continue to give back through long-standing board roles at Beyond Shelter, Inc., a nonprofit housing developer; 16 years with Burning Hearts Church; and over two decades with the Fargo-Moorhead CRU ministry.
Among these career milestones, nothing brings more joy or fulfillment than the gifts of faith, love, marriage, and fatherhood.
As founder and principal of RHET Architecture, I remain deeply engaged in the profession—participating in design competitions, joining Minnesota Design Team community visits, and offering pro bono architectural services to global partners including University of the Nations, Calabar (Nigeria), Children’s Relief Orphanage (Mozambique), and Churches United for the Homeless (Fargo-Moorhead).
One of my favorite projects is the choir loft at St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center, which received an AIA North Dakota Design Award. Before earning my Bachelor of Architecture degree from North Dakota State University, I studied Modern Nordic Architecture at the University of Oulu in Finland—a formative experience that continues to influence my design philosophy.
PROJECT ARCHITECT
BEN HAZELETT, NCARB

Hi, I’m Ben, a Project Architect with five years of experience leading detail-oriented, complex projects where cross-disciplinary coordination is key. I also serve as our firm’s IT lead, overseeing software systems, hardware infrastructure, and procurement. Outside of work, I’m proud to serve on the board of the Great Plains Children’s Museum, reflecting my passion for community and family. In my free time, I enjoy tinkering with computers and servers, flying drones, 3D printing, and exploring new tech hobbies.
PROJECT ARCHITECT
DYLAN NEURURER, NCARB

Hello, my name is Dylan. While I take my work as an architect seriously, I hope to be known first as a God-fearing man, a faithful husband and father, and a trusted friend. I believe that strong, trusting relationships are the foundation on which design with vision and lasting value is built. Since graduating from the NDSU architecture program in 2017, I’ve aspired to create designs that address practical needs with both beauty and purpose. Just as we see thoughtful design embedded in creation—tailored perfectly to its environment—I believe buildings, too, can be beautifully and purposefully crafted to suit their context and intended use. “God is the Master Architect, and all created things are the blueprint of His design.” – St. Augustine
PROJECT MANAGER
MITCH ABRAHAMSEN

Whether it’s modeling with Lego, drawing with a pencil, or drafting in CAD, I love the process of putting a building together. My name is Mitch, and I’ve wanted to be an architect since I was five years old. This dream led me to North Dakota State University, where I fell in love with the collaborative and creative culture of the architecture program. A culture that has continued in my professional career. Since joining RHET Architecture in 2018, every day offers new and exciting opportunities to learn as a team and expand my skills as a project manager and specification writer.
OFFICE MANAGER
MAHA FISKNESS

After spending much of my adult life in fast-paced corporate environments, I always dreamed of one day running a business and raising a family. That dream came to life after marriage, when I joined my husband at RHET Architecture as the business manager. While I prefer to work behind the scenes, I find great fulfillment in bringing clarity, order, and care to everything I do—whether through meaningful conversations or clean, well-organized spreadsheets.
Born and raised in the Kingdom of Jordan, I bring a global perspective shaped by professional experiences across four continents. As a former marketing leader at the international telecom company Orange, I’ve developed a strong foundation in strategy, communication, and operations. I also have a passion for education, having taught mental math through the UCMAS program and digital literacy as an ICDL coach.
With a degree in computer science, high diploma in management information system, and certificate in counseling, I wear many hats at RHET Architecture. But above all, my greatest joy is raising a family and embracing life as a wife and mother.

I DON'T NEED COFFEE TO GET EXCITED ABOUT ARCHITECTURE.
Teaching as an adjunct professor of architecture at North Dakota State University keeps me energized. Serving the community as a board member for non-profit housing developer, Beyond Shelter, Inc, and council member for the Fargo Moorhead CRU ministry keeps me humbled. Competing for AIA Design Awards keeps me creative. As founder and principal of RHET Architecture, I am immersed in all things architecture.
Titles are boring, but the work of organizations like the AIA is not. I was honored to serve as the President of FM Architects from 2007 through 2011 and the Regional Director of the Young Architects Forum for the North Central States from 2012 through 2016. Career highlights include being honored as the AIA ND Intern of the Year in 2008 and serving as an AIA Delegate to Washington's D.C.'s Capitol Hill.
I am passionate about architecture and eagerly participate in design competitions, regularly complete Minnesota Design Team community visits, and provide pro-bono architectural services to University of the Nations; Calabar, Nigeria; Children’s Relief Orphanage in Dondo, Mozambique; and Fargo-Moorhead Churches United for the Homeless. My favorite breakthrough project is the St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center Choir Loft, which won an AIA ND Design Award.
Prior to receiving a Bachelor of Architecture degree from North Dakota State University, I studied Modern Nordic Architecture at the University of Oulu, Finland.
